But there are a few helpful things to know before you go ahead and submit your application.
2024 Camp Dates:
- Staff Training: July 27 @ 5pm to July 30 @ 10am
- HPWC Camp 1: July 30 – August 5
- HPWC Camp 2: August 7 – 16
- HPWC Camp 3: August 18 – 24
- Staff training occurs for 2.5 days prior to camp. In 2024, it starts July 27 @ 5:00pm to July 30 @ 10:00am. Staff are expected to attend unless other arrangements are made. STaff Training is when we review the purpose and mission of camp and re-integrate as a team. training in practical skills & procedures, prayer, and bringing in our group focus to our mission over the next few weeks is vital to creating a strong team that will move forward as a unit.
- All new staff will receive a copy of the book “The Christian Camp Leader” by Jim Badke. The book is owned by HPWC and you will need to bring it back with you when you come. This book is filled with information on the spiritual nature of camp ministry and many practical concepts to help you be more effective in camp ministry.
- Camp Philosophy: We seek to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with our campers and mentor both our campers and staff in their Christian lives. This is done through building caring, Christ-centered relationships in our beautiful outdoor wilderness setting.
- Our staff are committed to working together in unity of purpose and spirit, putting aside minor differences for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
- When we work together with our sole purpose to be the salvation and spiritual growth of the campers for the glory of God, we see God work in amazing ways!
Our staff positions are as follows:
Junior Staff: Open to staff 16 – 17 years old who are willing to serve in any capacity at camp where they are needed.
Positions open to Junior Staff:
- Tipi Assistant
- Kitchen Help
- Assistant Wrangler (special approval required)

Senior Staff: Open to staff 18+ years old who are willing to serve where needed and are willing to take on new challenges.
